Van Zandt, In His Own Words
Born in Paris, and grown up across Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands. I spent my youth constantly on the road, and consequently a stranger to most. Along the way I began writing music, trying to piece my personality back together. These songs are stories from that road. Some may never know what it’s like, but I hope others will find themselves in the lyrics I’ve written.
Sincerly, Robin Van Zandt
“I Took What I Had Left”
“Written somewhere on the islands of the atlantic, contemplating loss and betrayal. One moment you’re fine, then suddenly, the shade turns black to blue, until irreparably - right before your eyes - the abyss that you thought was loss, is filled with a deeper sadness.”
-Robin Van Zandt on “Once Was Gone”
